SCAM artist alert

Apparently there is someone calling themself "Luigi Calloway" out there who is claiming to be associated with the Mount TBR Reading Challenge. He is contacting authors and telling them if they pay him, then their books will be used for the challenge. It's possible he's also telling people they must pay to participate in any way. Please know that there is absolutely no charge associated in any way with this reading challenge and that this person does not represent me or anything associated with my blog. There will NEVER be a reason for anyone to have to pay for participation in any way for any of my challenges. If only people who exert this much time and effort on scamming people would put it into something worthwhile....like reading their own books!

Reading by the Numbers Challenge

The Reading by the Numbers Challenge makes its debut on My Reader's Block. Over the years various blogs have sponsored reading challenges that were all about tracking how many books you read. But those that I participated in are no longer active, so I have decided to create my own. This is the reading challenge at its most basic--just track everything you read. Anything counts--graphic novels or comic books, hard copy, e-books, audio novels, etc. If it is a book, it counts. And although the covers shown in the challenge image are all mysteries, you may read from any and all genres that interest you.

~Challenge runs from January 1 through December 31, 2022

~No pre-set challenge levels. You decide on your personal goal.

~May be used concurrently with other "number" reading challenges (such as the Goodreads Challenge) or with any other challenge.

~A blog and reviews of the books are not required to participate, but if you have a blog, please post your sign-up for the challenge and link the post in the form below. You are also welcome to link up other media sites where you log process (Instagram; Goodreads; etc.).

~As with my other challenges, there will be a Headquarters link in the left sidebar of the blog.

~If you post on Facebook, Instagram, or other social media to log a book, please use #ReadingByNumbers2022.

Does the challenge require that the book have a number in the title? The challenge badge indicates this but your description of the challenge leaves everything about the book open.

Laura: No, you can read anything that you want. I just used books that had numbers in their titles to play off of the "by the numbers" theme. The challenge is purely to set yourself a goal and then track your reading for the year.
