D. Dogs: Haven't had one since I was home. She was a Lhasa Apso/Poodle mix (a Lhasapoo! I love saying that. Lol) named Tosha.

E. Essential start to your day: Must have shower and some breakfast. And no conversation until those things have happened.

I. Instruments you play: The CD player. (I used to be able to bang out simple songs with two fingers very slowly on the piano, but probably not any more.)

J. Job title: Administrative Secretary for an English Department graduate program

N. Nicknames: Bev Ann, Beev and whatever sweet nothing the hubby has come up with lately

O. Overnight hospital stays: Pregnancy-related: twice--once for a week because I was sick & dehydrated; once to have my little darling; Surgery this past April

P. Pet peeve: People who believe they are entitled (to whatever they want, whenever they want it--read a high percentage of the undergraduates who wander into our English Department). Also the number of students who, despite having been accepted to the university, cannot read and understand the English language. I'm talking home-grown American kids here, not our international students.

W. What makes you run late: Husband. Always. He has two speeds (the other one's slower).

X. X-Rays you've had: Mostly dental. Only other x-ray was of my ankle about 7 years ago--just to make sure it wasn't broken. It wasn't...only a sprain.

What was the last thing you put in your mouth?
Night-time medication

How late did you stay up last night and why?
Reading until about 11:30 pm. Had to finish the book.

If you could move somewhere else, would you?
Where (city) doesn't matter so much...but it would be to a bigger house, with a dedicated library (built to MY specifications). We can throw in a spiffy audio/visual room for the hubby and son too--with surround sound, big screen tv, subwoofers and the works (and sound-proofing so the neighbors won't complain & I can read in peace..lol).

Have you ever been kissed under fireworks?
Not that I remember

Do you believe ex’s can be friends?
Yes and no. My experience...am friends with my first ex-boyfriend and not with my second. And quite frankly, I don't care if I ever see/talk to/whatever my second again.

When was the last time you cried really hard?
A couple of years ago

What items could you not go without during the day?
shower, breakfast, book

Who was the last person you visited in the hospital?
I'm taking it as a good thing that it's been long enough that I can't remember....

How do you feel about your life right now?
It's okay. Been better...definitely been worse

Probably not. I'm on prescribed pain meds...they're bound to show up.

Has anyone ever called you perfect before?
My hubby...makes me wonder what little favor he might be wanting. :- )

WAY too much. I over-think everything.

Yes

Oh yeah

A teacher that I actually had? No. Someone who teaches? Yes.

I have never thought about it. Probably something from Eden's Bridge (Celtic Christian group)

Would you tell your parents if you were gay?
That's another one I've never thought of...since I don't swing that way. Not really an issue.

What would your last meal be before getting executed?
My mom's home-made fried chicken, mac & cheeses, and chocolate pie. If I can only choose one food item...I'll take the chocolate pie.

Do you walk around the house naked?
Not around the outside of the house....

What do you do as soon as you walk in the house?
Hang up my coat...unless it's warm enough not to need one. Then it's take off my shoes and put on the slippers. I hate shoes.

Who is the person you can count on the most?
My best friend...that just might be the hubby, you know.

What is your favorite Holiday?
Christmas

no

Plenty of times

Their smile and the way they laugh

At church

Where was the last place you drove (other than home/school/work)?
To Jiffy Treet (local ice cream place)...my husband loves their Dream Delite (ice cream substitute for the lactose intolerant...it's pretty good)

Sunday Stealing: Another 14 Question Meme

Cheers to all of us thieves!

1. Lots of pillows or just one? Describe your pre-sleeping rituals.
Two pillows...one flatter as a base and one fluffy to put my head upon. Before bed: change into jammies, drink of water, take nightly pills, tell son goodnight (he's a teenager--he stays up later than I do), kiss hubby goodnight, read for a bit, go to sleep.

2. What kind of books do you read?
Mystery, British literature (mostly pre-WWII, but some more modern), historical fiction, some science fiction, some essay and non-fiction, and whatever grabs me. No horror.

3. What are your neighbors like?
Pretty nice, pretty quiet. Much better than the set we had previously (parties at all hours and all nights of the week...)

4. What's really creepy to you?
People who abuse children in any way. I cannot get my mind around what kind of person can do that.

5. What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Blogging

6. Do you prefer your junk food sweet, salty or savory?
Depends what mood I'm in--sometimes sweet, sometimes salty. Rarely, if ever, savory.

7. What was the last expensive thing you bought?
A trip to New York City (does that count as a thing?)

8. What is your greatest fear?
Losing someone I care about

9. Do you get cravings? If so, what do you crave?
Right now? These chips that were popular back in the late 70s . They were oblong in shape, reminded me of thicker, smaller Pringles and were called Chipsters (I think). I seem to recall they were made by the Keebler Elves. The worst thing about this craving is I know these chips are no more and there's no way I can satisfy this craving. I have no idea why it's suddenly come up.

10. What do you do to change your mood?
Listen to music, read a book, take a walk, talk to someone

11. What was the last meal you ate that you loved?
I have no idea.

12. Do you want to learn another language? If so, why?
I took French in high school and college...I wish I were more fluent. Just because.

13. What's something that you'd like to say to someone right now?
I love you.

14. What are you looking forward to?
Preparing the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for my son. It's been a long time coming.
