Saturday Snapshot: May 5

Saturday Snapshot is a meme hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. All you have to do is "post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken and then leave a direct link to your post in the Mr. Linky on [her] blog. Photos can be old or new, and be of anything as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give is up to you." All she asks is that you don't just post random photos that you find online. (Click picture for close-up).

About this time of year in 2004, my son was preparing for his class's annual "Country Fair." England was his country of choice and here he is with his model of Stonehenge.

your son is so handsome and wow what a project to produce!

Yes, the Country Fair was quite involved. They had a choice of various things to display and produce to show their knowledge of the country (he did the model, a replica flag, a picture collage--behind him, a map--to the right, a timeline of British history, and various reports).

What a good job he did. Bet that was an interesting project. Lots of lore about Stonehenge.

When I was still teaching, these were the types of units/projects that I loved to see the kids work on ... their excitement and creativity was always so exciting for me to see. That is some 3-d of Stonehenge!

He looks so proud. My daughter recently attempted the same thing, but with dominoes, oh, and she was 19.

Great choice. I've always been fascinated by Stonehenge and the ancient people's knowledge of astronomy.

Stonehenge always reminds me of a favorite book of mine, Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles.
Looks like your son has made a fine demonstration of that place of mystery!
