SCAM artist alert

Apparently there is someone calling themself "Luigi Calloway" out there who is claiming to be associated with the Mount TBR Reading Challenge. He is contacting authors and telling them if they pay him, then their books will be used for the challenge. It's possible he's also telling people they must pay to participate in any way. Please know that there is absolutely no charge associated in any way with this reading challenge and that this person does not represent me or anything associated with my blog. There will NEVER be a reason for anyone to have to pay for participation in any way for any of my challenges. If only people who exert this much time and effort on scamming people would put it into something worthwhile....like reading their own books!

The Friday 56

The Friday 56 is a bookish meme which is hosted by Freda's Voice. It's really easy (and fun!) to participate.

*Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
*Turn to page 56 and find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post that senctence with these instructions on your blog or in the comments section.
* Post a link back to Freda's Voice.
*Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST!

Here's mine from A Dangerous Affair by Caro Peacock:

"What is it about the syllabub?" I said. "Isn't that a strange thing to have in a dressing room?"

Very nice! What is syllabub anyway? Happy reading and happy holidays!

@Kathy Martin: Syllabub is a Victorian sweet (whipped cream, sugar and sherry)
