Teaser Tuesdays

MizB of Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesdays. Anyone can play along. Just do the following:

*Grab your current read.Link*Open to a random page.
*Share two "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page.

*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! You don't want to ruin the book for others.
*Share the title and author too, so other TT participants can add it to their TBR lists if they like your teaser.

Here's mine from Gaudy Night by Dorothy L Sayers (p. 50):

Harriet had long ago discovered that one could not like people any the better because they were ill, or dead--still less because one had once liked them very much. Some happy souls could go through life without making this discovery, and they were the men and women who were called "sincere."

Good one!!
Have a question? Where are all your 2012 challenges hiding lol? And I noticed a couple that I think I want to add to mine. Where are you finding them from, I didn't see them on A Novel Challenge, is there another site?
