SCAM artist alert

Apparently there is someone calling themself "Luigi Calloway" out there who is claiming to be associated with the Mount TBR Reading Challenge. He is contacting authors and telling them if they pay him, then their books will be used for the challenge. It's possible he's also telling people they must pay to participate in any way. Please know that there is absolutely no charge associated in any way with this reading challenge and that this person does NOT represent me or anything associated with my blog. I DO NOT endorse anything that he claims. There will NEVER be a reason for anyone to have to pay for participation in any way for any of my challenges. If only people who exert this much time and effort on scamming people would put it into something worthwhile....like reading their own books! A message to Luigi: Please cease and desist contacting authors (or anyone) in my name or claiming to represent this reading challenge. You absolutely DO NOT.

Virtual Mount TBR 2019: My Sign-Up

Every year my goal is to read from my own stacks (hence the original Mount TBR Challenge). And every year I decide that there are TBR books that I don't own that I just have to read. So in 2019, courtesy of my all-new Virtual Mount TBR Challenge, I get to count that mountain too! I'm starting with Rum Doodle (though I suspect I'll wind up on Mount Crumpit) and, hopefully, I won't get too carried away with library books. Though....it would be nice to say that I've climbed the steps of Vulcan's Mount Seleya.

Mount TBR 2019: My Sign-up

January 2019 kicks off the eighth year of the Mount TBR Reading Challenge. I still don't feel like I've moved those mountains at all. Once I hit middle-age, I found that I just can't climb like I used to. I'm huffing and puffing my way to Everest in 2018, but I'm determined to keep my goal at 100 books again for 2019. I'll still be dreaming of building a space ship to Mars and planting that flag on top of Mount Olympus--but the challenge commitment is complete with a flag on the peak of Everest.

You're invited to join me in taming those TBR mountains; just click on the link above for the full description and rules.

Just the Facts, Ma'am 2019: My Sign-Up

Well, naturally I am signing up for my very own 2019 edition of the Vintage Mystery Challenge--another round of Just the Facts, Ma'am. I mean vintage mysteries are kind of my thing. The object of the game is to answer all the important questions of Who, What, When, Where, How, and Why to complete cases in either the Golden of Silver Mystery Eras (or for the compulsive challengers, like me, both). See the Detective Notebooks below. For a complete run-down of the rules, please click on the link above.

I will be participating in both reading Eras. My plan will be to complete as many categories as possible, but my commitment will have been met when I reach the Inspired Amateur level (24 books) in the Golden Age and the Detective Sergeant Level (12 books) in the Silver Age.
