A Century of Books Challenge

I signed up for the Century of Books Challenge once.  And wrote what was probably the most eloquent sign-up post ever.  And somehow managed to completely wipe out the post and lose all the careful research I'd done to find a book I wanted to read for every single date in the century.  And....had finally decided I no longer needed the hand-written notes I'd made prior to putting it up on the internet.  (Yes, I'm looking for sympathy here.  Any takers?)  Oh wait!  I just found a preliminary list on my thumb drive! It may not be everything and it may not be the books I ultimately decided on ('cause I know I made some changes)--but it's something.
