SCAM artist alert

Apparently there is someone calling themself "Luigi Calloway" out there who is claiming to be associated with the Mount TBR Reading Challenge. He is contacting authors and telling them if they pay him, then their books will be used for the challenge. It's possible he's also telling people they must pay to participate in any way. Please know that there is absolutely no charge associated in any way with this reading challenge and that this person does NOT represent me or anything associated with my blog. I DO NOT endorse anything that he claims. There will NEVER be a reason for anyone to have to pay for participation in any way for any of my challenges. If only people who exert this much time and effort on scamming people would put it into something worthwhile....like reading their own books! A message to Luigi: Please cease and desist contacting authors (or anyone) in my name or claiming to represent this reading challenge. You absolutely DO NOT.

Theme Thursday: Beauty

Rules:
*A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday)
*Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you're reading that features the theme
*Post it and don't forget to mention the author and title of the book
*Event is open for the whole week
*Link back to Reading Between the Pages

This week's theme is Beauty [Beauty-Related] and here is mine from How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe by Charles Yu (p. 27):

I will say, though, that it's hard to stay in shape in a recreational time travel device. I eat a lot of ramen. There isn't enough room to do push-ups. Sometimes I pick up Ed and curl him a few times.

Trust me, that's about as beauty-related as it gets. The book is pretty dense with science fictional techno-babble. Male beauty...it's all about the muscles and staying in shape.

This made me giggle, especially the part about "picking up Ed and curling him."
Thanks for stopping by this morning. I noticed in your profile that you are in Bloomington. My husband lived there during his childhood and he has fond memories of it. Have a great day!
