Orange You Glad It's Friday

It's time for another round of Orange You Glad It's Friday.  This photo meme is sponsored by Hood Photo Blog.  The mission, should you choose to accept it, is to post a picture that you have taken or have permission to use with a little or a lot of orange, share your link at the site, visit others, and leave  comments if you wish.  Here's my bit of orange for the week:

Just a hint of orange on that brain.  From late-April to mid-October 2012, 22 large fiberglass brains have taken over the city of Bloomington and Indiana University's campus. The installations are part of the Brains Extravaganza, a project that brings city institutions together to promote "brain awareness, education, injury prevention, recovery, and the importance of movement on mental and physical health." This brain is stationed outside the public library.

Haven't visited Bloomington in many years....glad to see that academia is still a major focus♫

Hi Bev,

I haven't come across a scenario like this in the UK anywhere ... the concept of seeing 'brains' all over the place is certainly new to me.

We have something similar in many cities around the UK, but the subject matter is generally animal themed and the statues are made and painted by volunteers. The statues are then displayed at various sites over the city for a period of a few weeks, after which time they are generally auctioned off for charity.

Thanks for sharing your orange theme, an interesting post.

Enjoy your weekend,

Yvonne

My question when I first found out about this was: "But if there really is a zombie apocalypse...doesn't this kind of ensure that they'll hit Bloomington first?" Lol.
