Mystery Lover...but overall a very eclectic reader. Will read everything from the classics to historical fiction. Biography to essays. Not into horror or much into YA. If you would like me to review a book, then please see my stated review policy BEFORE emailing me.

Friday Memes
Book Beginnings on Friday is a bookish meme sponsored by Katy at A Few More Pages. Here's what you do: Share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading on your blog or in the comments section. Include the title and author so we know what you're reading. Then, if you are so moved, let us know what your first impressions were based on that first line and if you did or did not like that sentence. Link up each week at Katy's place.
Here's mine from Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen:
No one who had ever seen Catherine Morland in her infancy would have supposed her born to be an heroine.
The Friday 56 is a bookishmeme sponsored by Freda's Voice. It is really easy to participate. *Grab a book, any book. *Turn to page 56. *Find any sentence that grabs you. *Post it. *Link up at Freda's site.
Here's mine from Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen:
Catherine could not tell a falsehood even to please Isabella; but the latter was spared the misery of her friend's dissenting voice, by not waiting for her answer.
Jane Austen is one of my favourite authors. I have read all of her novels and Northanger Abbey is my third favourite after Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion.

I want to read this one...there are a few Jane Austen books I missed in my younger days.
Thanks for sharing...
Here's MY FRIDAY MEMES POST
Loving all the Austen I've read this week off other blogs! Thanks for participating!
It's funny, I don't enjoy reading Jane Austen, but I love the BBC versions of the books (as a reader I feel so embarrassed saying that).
Love love love. Haven't read Northanger Abbey in years but you totally took me back in just a few lines... isn't Austen just so funny?
I like the beginning sentence it does make me interested in the book. :-)
Hi Bev,
Sounds like I need to bump this one up on my TBR list. Have a great day!

Happy Weekend!
I really have to try out some Jane Austen books. I must be the only one on the planet that has never completed one yet.
