Regarding "Mystery of the Gold Box", also published as "The Gold Comfit Box" (hence the other-titled cover), also I claim "doctor", the feet shown on the cover are those of Dr. Adolph Grundt, a.k.a. Clubfoot, but a legitimate doctor as well.
And, since you're claiming his feet, is he a podiatrist? LOL
He is certainly the patient of one! Note one sole is 3" higher than the other. In this story the hero eluded capture by stealing his orthopedic shoe, thus slowing him down.
