SCAM artist alert

Apparently there is someone calling themself "Luigi Calloway" out there who is claiming to be associated with the Mount TBR Reading Challenge. He is contacting authors and telling them if they pay him, then their books will be used for the challenge. It's possible he's also telling people they must pay to participate in any way. Please know that there is absolutely no charge associated in any way with this reading challenge and that this person does NOT represent me or anything associated with my blog. I DO NOT endorse anything that he claims. There will NEVER be a reason for anyone to have to pay for participation in any way for any of my challenges. If only people who exert this much time and effort on scamming people would put it into something worthwhile....like reading their own books! A message to Luigi: Please cease and desist contacting authors (or anyone) in my name or claiming to represent this reading challenge. You absolutely DO NOT.

Saturday Snapshot: October 1

Saturday Snapshot is a meme hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. All you have to do is "post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken and then leave a direct link to your post in the Mr. Linky on [her] blog. Photos can be old or new, and be of anything as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give is up to you." All she asks is that you don't just post random photos that you find online. (Click picture for close-up.)

I'm running a bit late on posting this week. But I have a REALLY g
ood excuse. At least all the bibliophiles will think so....

I spent a huge chunk of my day (and an hour last night) at our local Red Cross Book Sale. I came home with 54 new (to me) books. And here I am with my book loot. As my t-shirt says: There is no such thing as too many books....

Such a GREAT reason for posting late in the day! 54 books would overwhelm, but please me :-)

That's a great picture. And possibly a record number of books in one day!

Well done! I hope you enjoy them - and have space for them!! That would be a problem for me - our house is swamped with books :)

Now that's my idea of heaven!

Woooot!! Those book sales are so much fun but I blame them for the piles of books on the floor and the double stacking in the bookcases. Enjoy all your new books!!

I started avoiding book sales because I still have so many good books to read around. Hope you got some great deals and enjoy your new loot!

I love the smile on your face and the t-shirt! I hope you love every book you bought!

You're right. Excellent reason to post late. Who cares about blogging when there are books to be read.

Nice catch! Now the question -- where are you going to put all of them?!

Bev Hankins said...

@smellingcoffee: I'll just add them to the mountain of TBR books in the back room....

Great shot! Love how you're "showing" instead of just telling.

Enjoy!

And thanks for visiting my snapshot post.

Bliss. That smile on your face says it all. Is there anything nicer than contemplating a pile of books to be read?

Happiest photo I've seen yet!!

Jenners: I am one happy little bibliophile.

Oh Wow. I think my husband would die if I bought 54 books in one day! I'd have to hide them, and not be out and proud. Glad you can be. What a haul!
(BTW I think I fixed the problem with my photos the other day, and they should be visible, I hope they are)

Wow you're right that's a great reason to be late. 54 books!! That's amazing I think I would die and go to heaven to buy that many new to me books in on sitting.
