One evening not long ago, my fifteen-year-old son, Noah, told me that literature was dead. We were at the dinner table, discussing The Great Gatsby, which he was reading for a ninth-grade humanities class.

I know that change is inevitable and is the one constant...but not this kind of change!!!

Well that is sure to provide some heated dinner table discussion... although I haven't read The Great Gatsby. It is on my TBR pile though!

I get a queasy feeling in my gut when I think about what is happening with books these days. Doesn't anyone read Science Fiction stories anymore and know what happens when people stop reading?
