Mystery Lover...but overall a very eclectic reader. Will read everything from the classics to historical fiction. Biography to essays. Not into horror or much into YA. If you would like me to review a book, then please see my stated review policy BEFORE emailing me. Please Note: This is a book blog. It is not a platform for advertising. Please do NOT contact me to ask that I promote your NON-book websites or products. Thank you.

Hop, Hop, Hop
Wow, it's Friday already, so that means that it's time for the Book Blogger Hop hosted by Crazy-For-Books. It's a time to talk about blogging topics and to venture out on the internet and visit other blogs. Visit the link to join in.
This week's question: How do you spread the word about your blog? (e.g . Social networking sites, book blog directories, comments on other blogs...)
Well, maybe I don't quite have the hang of this blogging thing yet, but I don't really "spread the word." At least not intentionally. I'm in this for fun and to meet great people (which I have, everywhere I've gone in blogger-land so far). I guess you could say I advertise by participating in memes, trying to offer thoughtful comments on others' posts, blog hops, signing up for challenges, read-a-long & contests and offering give-aways of my own. If folks stop by my blog and find that I'm doing good and interesting things with the books I read and decide to keep coming back, then that's wonderful! But I don't think I'm going to start signing up on blog-networking sites or book blog directories just to try and reel people in.

Sorry folks, but I have been getting an incredible amount of spam. I have adjusted my settings and all messages will be moderated from now on. If that does not take care of the problem then I will have to go to the "Prove You're Not a Robot" thing--which I hate as much as you do.
If your name does not appear automatically, please tell me your name in the comment. Otherwise you will just show up as "Unknown." Thanks!
You're doing fine! Keep up the good work and remember to have fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteHi Bev, I'm already a follower. Like you, I don't really work at attracting followers. I do appreciate your blog, and your frequent comments on my blog;)
ReplyDeleteHopping by to visit and follow! Good point on not wanting to just "reel people in". It's fantastic to have lots of people who enjoy what we write, but most of us don't want to just rake in the numbers and forget about having fun and enjoying the book-blogging world!

ReplyDeleteOffering meaningful comments is the best form of "networking" in my opinion. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I am an old follower. I believe people will come back if they like what they read. Happy hopping!
