Ten years ago Carl V. Anderson over at Stainless Steel Droppings introduced his R.eader's I.mbibing P.eril challenge which has since morphed into an event--with more fun than competition as its goal. For its tenth anniversary he has asked his friends, Andi and Heather, of the Estella Society, to host.

The goals remain the same:

From September 1st through October 31st, we will be reading and/or watching all things Gothic, spooky and mysterious. Categories that may be included are Mystery, Suspense, Thriller, Dark Fantasy, Gothic, Horror, Supernatural or other closely-related fields. As always, there are various levels of participation. For the full details or to join in, please hop on the link to the R. I. P. X Event and check it out.

Reviews, while not required, may be posted HERE.

I will be starting with my standard:

ripnineperilfirst

  2. I am looking forward to seeing what you read for this. I haven't read a Douglas Clark book in decades, but I keep wanting to.

  3. Yay! I'm in for the first time this year... hope to read Horace Walpole's Castle of Otranto and Stephen King's Drawing of the Three, at least. If there's time, I'll add a third. You're off to a great start already. :)

  4. Adam: I hope you enjoy it. I'm not big into horror or spooky, but since mysteries are allowed I can totally rock that. :-)

  5. How are things going with the challenge. I have completed two books for the challenge and will likely be it for me. What book did you select?

Sorry folks, but I have been getting an incredible amount of spam. I have adjusted my settings and all messages will be moderated from now on. If that does not take care of the problem then I will have to go to the "Prove You're Not a Robot" thing--which I hate as much as you do.

If your name does not appear automatically, please tell me your name in the comment. Otherwise you will just show up as "Unknown." Thanks!
