Here's mine from Sweet Adelaide by Julian Symons (p. 224): If they were studying books, why were the curtains sometimes pulled together and then pinned, so that nobody could see in, and what was she doing with her head on the reverend gentleman's knee, bold as brass, not even bothering to move when Alice went in?
They were doing more than studying is why... lol
