Saturday Snapshot is a meme hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. All
you have to do is "post a photo that you (or a
friend or family member) have taken and then leave a
direct link to your post in the Mr. Linky on [her]
blog. Photos can be old or new, and be of anything as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give is up to you." All she asks is that you don't just post random photos that you find online. (Click pictures for close-up).

No, I don't want to look at the camera. |

Yeah, I meant it. No publicity shots today |
Here are a few pictures that I got of a blue jay hiding in the green leaves of our maple tree. This is back before everything got so dry and brown from lack of rain. Hopefully, the rain today (and all weekend, please!) will green things back up again.
What a lovely little fellow - he is hiding from you.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. Are blue jays common where you are? My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/qCafm
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Capturing birds like that is hard. I'm not too good at it. It has been very dry. You obviously get the same weather we in SW Ontario, Canada get. I'm hoping for rain too.
ReplyDeleteOh, the green leaves are beautiful! I do enjoy greenery...yet it all turns brown so quickly!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your weekend.
Great photos, I love capturing the birds in the garden, photographically I mean!!
ReplyDeleteIt's very dry here as well we haven't had rain in weeks!
Thanks for dropping by and visiting.
Nice pictures. Hope you get the rain you're looking for. I think we may be getting some soon as well. thanks for visiting my snapshot and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
ReplyDeletegreat shots of the BlueJay! I can never find my camera fast enough when a unique animal crosses my path :) Book Savvy Babe
ReplyDeleteThe blue jay has got to be one of the most beautiful birds anywhere. And these are terrific shots of a rather camera-shy one!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of that blue jay! Hope you get some rain soon -- I know how you feel, we didn't get much rain for a long time until this week. It has been nice not having to water my flowers every day for a change.
ReplyDeleteNice pics!
ReplyDeleteEven your trees got brown? That's awful. Hope you get some rain soon
ReplyDeleteHaha, great photos, even if the bird wasn't feeling the model vibe.
ReplyDeleteAt least the Jay stayed still for you even if he wouldn't turn around. It's a nice clear shot and we can see his beautiful coloring.
ReplyDeleteWe have a bunch of blue jays at our camper!! This brown stuff is really getting bad..hoping that we really do get some rain tomorrow!!!
ReplyDeleteLove those bird shots. Blue Jays have seemed to disappear from our area.
ReplyDeletelovely.
ReplyDeleteAren't they nervy birds? They raid the bird nests around here and kill the baby sparrows and chickadees ... they are such pirate birds!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely and green and such a sweet little bird!
ReplyDeleteHa! Fun photo series. Hope you got some rain! We could use some here, too. Got a few drops, today, but that's not going to do it for us.
ReplyDeleteLike the pictures. The way you photographed in a series is awesome!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Saturday Snapshot post!
Haha, he doesn't want his photo taken :P
ReplyDeleteMaybe he just wanted to show off the lovely feathers on his back? Good try, anyway.

Blue jays are indeed beautiful birds, how lucky you are to have them visit your yard. Lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteThat's sad that everything is all brown now! That bluejay is very pretty though.
ReplyDeleteIt really did look lovely.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get enough rain, I'd gladly send you some of our rain.
Your captions made the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love Blue Jays, they are the perfect shade of blue. Nice shots. :)
