Here's mine from The Fifth Man by Manning Coles:
Who is he? Why is he wobbling? Is he on a bike?
Mystery Lover...but overall a very eclectic reader. Will read everything from the classics to historical fiction. Biography to essays. Not into horror or much into YA. If you would like me to review a book, then please see my stated review policy BEFORE emailing me. Please Note: This is a book blog. It is not a platform for advertising. Please do NOT contact me to ask that I promote your NON-book websites or products. Thank you.
Sorry folks, but I have been getting an incredible amount of spam. I have adjusted my settings and all messages will be moderated from now on. If that does not take care of the problem then I will have to go to the "Prove You're Not a Robot" thing--which I hate as much as you do.
If your name does not appear automatically, please tell me your name in the comment. Otherwise you will just show up as "Unknown." Thanks!
I can see why you are wondering. What an intriguing beginning and 56. I hope the book is as good as those two peeks into it. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteInteresting beginning and 56. I've never heard of this book but I'll be looking into it now.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Friday Meme
Very curious! Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteI've got to look up the word "imp"! :D
ReplyDeleteI like the opening lines. Good questions...it seems that being the dark makes it hard to manuever whatever it is he's driving...maybe he's being followed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog!
That is a curious opening line and it makes me want to read more.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog!
Those were my questions. Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you have a book of short stories this week because, for the firm time in a long time, you have not tempted me to add another book to my shelves. I know not to add short story books because I never read them -- I always choose a novel over stories.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part in Book Beginnings on Friday!
Curious and curiouser ... I'd like to read more :)
ReplyDeleteHere's mine. Plus I have a giveaway of my featured book starting tomorrow: http://guiltlessreading.blogspot.ca/2012/07/friday-56-book-beginnings-lovely.html
I wonder what the idea was....
ReplyDeleteOutrageous ideas seem to succeed! Liked the beginning and 56!
ReplyDeleteLoved the beginning, interesting 56 too. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteFantastic opening! I can just picture it.
