Here's mine from So Many Steps to Death by Agatha Christie:
{Sounds like a very precise fellow. If I didn't know that this isn't a Hercule Poirot book, I would suspect that the man behind the desk was Poirot.}
Mystery Lover...but overall a very eclectic reader. Will read everything from the classics to historical fiction. Biography to essays. Not into horror or much into YA. If you would like me to review a book, then please see my stated review policy BEFORE emailing me. Please Note: This is a book blog. It is not a platform for advertising. Please do NOT contact me to ask that I promote your NON-book websites or products. Thank you.
Sorry folks, but I have been getting an incredible amount of spam. I have adjusted my settings and all messages will be moderated from now on. If that does not take care of the problem then I will have to go to the "Prove You're Not a Robot" thing--which I hate as much as you do.
If your name does not appear automatically, please tell me your name in the comment. Otherwise you will just show up as "Unknown." Thanks!
Agatha Christie's books always have good beginnings that draw you into the story. I love her work
ReplyDeleteHere's my Friday Meme Post
Hmm, I'm very curious now...and I've been wanting to read an Agatha Christie. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.

ReplyDeleteI've only seen movies based on her books. I'll get around to reading her one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI really like the sentence from pg 56. What's on the other side of the door in the corner?
My book beginning is from a book I'm reading for your color-coded challenge:

Maybe they put them in there to make them enter the opposite door.... still very suspenseful not knowing....
ReplyDeletehope there is not another body behind the door, that is completele
ReplyDeleteI've never read any Agatha Christie, but i'd probably enjoy her books. I think I avoided reading her because my sister was always reading her when I was a teenager and it wouldn't have been cool to be reading the same things as her. At that time I was constantly reading Stephen King, I think. Thanks for stopping by my blog and happy reading.
ReplyDeleteI have read almost all of Agatha Christie's books and when I travel I listen to them again. They never get old. Here is my post: Book Beginnings
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! It's been so long since I read an Agatha Christie book.
ReplyDeleteYou got me on an AC kick, but it's been a couple of months, so I am ready for another.
ReplyDeleteThanks for including your post in Book Beginnings.
It's hard to go past a goo AC. I read most of her books during my teen years. My favourite detectives where Tommy & Tuppence.
ReplyDeleteI picked up an Agatha Christie book at a library book sale a long time ago, but I still haven't gotten around to reading it. Maybe I'll make that next on my list.
ReplyDeleteI love Agatha's Poirot and I think the movies are brilliant as well! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great weekend!

Oops, I read your review before I read the beginning here, and this sounds surprisingly not at all like what the book is about. Hmm . . .
