Teaser Tuesdays

MizB of Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesdays. Anyone can play along. Just do the following:

*Grab your current read.
*Open to a random page.
*Share two "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page.
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! You don't want to ruin the book for others.
*Share the title and author too, so other TT participants can add it to their TBR lists if they like your teaser.

Here's mine from The Case of the Deceiving Don by Carl Brookins (p. 23):
I stared obliquely at the two large men in my office and thought about saying something by way of greeting. I chose not to. They appeared to be giving me the Intimidation 101 routine. It wasn't going to work.

  2. I do not like it when people try to intimidate others. Wonder what they wanted.

  3. I wonder why they were sent to intimidate in the first place.

Sorry folks, but I have been getting an incredible amount of spam. I have adjusted my settings and all messages will be moderated from now on. If that does not take care of the problem then I will have to go to the "Prove You're Not a Robot" thing--which I hate as much as you do.

If your name does not appear automatically, please tell me your name in the comment. Otherwise you will just show up as "Unknown." Thanks!
