Book Beginnings on Friday

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme now hosted by Katy over at A Few More Pages. It was first started by Becky at Page Turners and inspired by Rose City Reader.

How to participate: Share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading on your blog or in the comments. Include the title and author so we know what you're reading. Then, if you like, let us know what your first impressions were based on that first line, and let us know why you did or did not like the sentence. Link up over at Katy's page every Friday.

Here is mine from Behold, a Mystery! by Joan Smith (a murder mystery set In Regency England):

It was the vilest trick ever played on a lady. A forced marriage could hardly be worse.

  1. So what trick was that? What could be worse than a forced marriage? Intriguing!

  2. That's a good question...what kind of trick? Now I'm curious! LOL

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

Sorry folks, but I have been getting an incredible amount of spam. I have adjusted my settings and all messages will be moderated from now on. If that does not take care of the problem then I will have to go to the "Prove You're Not a Robot" thing--which I hate as much as you do.

If your name does not appear automatically, please tell me your name in the comment. Otherwise you will just show up as "Unknown." Thanks!
