Teaser Tuesday

MizB of Should Be Reading hosts Teaser Tuesday. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!

Here's a teaser from my current read, Castle Dor by Daphne Du Maurier & Arthur Quiller-Couch (p. 102):

"It's about Amyot--and Mrs. Lewarne."
"I don't see the connection...You've been dreamin', and thoughts all get mixed up in dreams....Puttin' two an' two together and making 'em five."

  5. @Deepali: According to the book flap du Maurier "met Quiller-Couch when she was a young girl and became a good friend of the novelist & his family. At the suggestion of Quiller-Couch's daughter Miss du Maurier to finish this novel." I'm not sure what "finish" means...how much is his and how much is hers.

  6. Exactly! So essentially, who made the outline and who actually fleshed out the story?
And of the two, which author do you think would be the bigger contributor?

(Im interested also cause I'm reading Robert J.'s & Brandon Sanderson's jointly written ending to the Wheel of Time trilogy). Both are great authors that I admire. RJ wrote the notes, outline, sketched out several scenes, and Brandon is taking over post his death and keeping true to the wishes.

  7. Good teaser! I read this one many years ago and remember liking it. But that's about all I remember about it! Guess it might be time for a reread.

  11. Oh, double teaser -- I hadn't realized there was a co-authored Du Maurier -- I'm not sure I approve! Still -- the teaser is a little tempting... I look forward to your review!

Sorry folks, but I have been getting an incredible amount of spam. I have adjusted my settings and all messages will be moderated from now on. If that does not take care of the problem then I will have to go to the "Prove You're Not a Robot" thing--which I hate as much as you do.
