"Well then, on that mercenary ground, will you agree to let me hector a little?"
"No, sir, not on that ground: but, on the ground that you did forget it, and that you care whether or not a dependent is comfortable in his dependency, I agree heartily."
Oh, that sounds very complex...It's been a long time since I read this book.

Verbal trickery is something I always like... Cool!
ReplyDeleteHere's ours, no trickery, but some linguistic acrobatics for sure!
This was a great book! I remember hurrying through it in high school to get my book report done on time!

It's been quite a while since I read Jane Eyre. Fantastic book, hope you are enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I've never read Jane Eyre and have never seen a reading list that someone hasn't had it listed. I guess I need to work on that one this winter.

Oh, what a great book. I've read it twice, though it has been a while. I hope you are enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteThis book was so good!! Totally captivated me! I had seen several movie adaptions of it, which I loved as well, but the book blew them all away!
ReplyDeleteThe Delusional Diaries
Total respect...you have been on a classics run. Someday, when I step out of my comfort zone, I will know who to ask as to which one I should start with.

I've started Jane Eyre several times, but just never have been able to wade all the way through. I love the story, but Charlotte's writing style always makes me jittery after a while. Maybe one of these days I'll give it another try.
ReplyDeleteAww Jane Eyre! One of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteHere's my teaser: Prospero Lost by L Jagi Lamplighter
I ready Jane Eyre for school, and remember enjoying it, unlike most of the "had to read for English" class books!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my teaser today!
