Mystery Lover...but overall a very eclectic reader. Will read everything from the classics to historical fiction. Biography to essays. Not into horror or much into YA. If you would like me to review a book, then please see my stated review policy BEFORE emailing me. Please Note: This is a book blog. It is not a platform for advertising. Please do NOT contact me to ask that I promote your NON-book websites or products. Thank you.

Booking Through Thursday: The Series & the Shark

Sorry folks, but I have been getting an incredible amount of spam. I have adjusted my settings and all messages will be moderated from now on. If that does not take care of the problem then I will have to go to the "Prove You're Not a Robot" thing--which I hate as much as you do.
If your name does not appear automatically, please tell me your name in the comment. Otherwise you will just show up as "Unknown." Thanks!
I think if a series moves too far away from what made it originally enjoyable, that's a good reason to leave it.
ReplyDeleteExample: The Anita Blake series. It seems like now all they are is excuses to have Anita hook up with various supernatural creatures.
I haven't had an encounter with downhill series, or is it because it is just now that I am expanding my genre. So far, I'm quite happy with my series selection and sticking to it. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't really run into any books that have jumped the shark. TV shows, on the other hand, can't seem to help but become ridiculous parodies of themselves
ReplyDeleteIt has only happened once that i had to abandon a series. Atleast not more!
ReplyDeleteI always read series to the end. If there's a bad book in a series, that doesn't bother me. Even with TV shows that I love - they can do a boring one now and again.
