I slogged through the excesses of The Great American Novel (tough going, even though I love baseball) but thought Goodbye, Columbus was extraordinarily good. Small doses seems to be the answer for me.

The "list of first lines" is a fascinating fun fact, for sure!

Congrats on adding yet another candle!J.G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02806805528636359436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5779338627192492408.post-35252931572657349842010-08-28T19:09:15.937-04:002010-08-28T19:09:15.937-04:00@Tammy: Thanks for the positive feedback on my rev...@Tammy: Thanks for the positive feedback on my reviews! Roth is a favorite of mine and P.C. was such a big deal. But it didn't do much for me.

I would like to read that Afterword, though. That sounds fascinating. My edition doesn't have it. The story about the opening sentences is incredible. I must find that list and match them to the books.Gilion at Rose City Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18080293172467000794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5779338627192492408.post-30878306131723677542010-08-28T15:53:16.395-04:002010-08-28T15:53:16.395-04:00Good job on finishing another book on Your Birth Y...Good job on finishing another book on Your Birth Year Book Challenge!!
